There are always questions regarding the r̥ṣyādi details for Charitratraya of Durgā Saptaśatī.
The first reference would be the Anukramaṇī of Nāgōjī Bhaṭṭa where he quotes the Kātyāyanī Tantra. For the three chapters respectively:
– Mārkaṇḍēya, Sumedhas, and Shiva are the r̥ṣis.
– Anuṣṭubh is the Chandas for the first and second chapters, Anuṣṭubh – Jagatī for the last one.
– The three great Goddesses themselves are the dēvatā-s.
– sauṁ (aiṁ according to my version of the Tantra), hrīṁ and kliṁ are the bījas.
– Nandā, śākambharī, and Bhīmā are the śaktis.
– Agni, Vāyu and Sūrya are the tattvas.
According to Umāyāmaḷa which is held in great regard for Saptaśatī related details in Northern India:
– Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Rudra are the seers.
– Gāyatrī, Anuṣṭubh and Uṣṇik are the meters.
– The three great goddesses are the dēvatā-s.
– Nandā, śākambharī and Bhīmā are the bījas.
– Raktadantikā, Durgā and Bhrāmarī are the śaktis.
– Agni, Sūrya and Vāyu are the tattvas.
