Kuṇḍalinī Shakti Nyāsa

In humans, the Kuṇḍalinī is said to be present as a serpent of three and a half coils. However, the Kuṇḍalinī in Adyākālī or Mahātripurasundarī transforms and various permutations of śaktis emanate. For example, when the Mūlakūṇdalinī is triguṇātmikā or sārdhatrivalayā, ādyā appears as Kālikā or Mahātripurasundarī. When Triguṇā transforms to Turīyā, Ekajaṭā appears, Ugratārā when the transformation is fivefold and so on.

When the śakti of the Mahāyōginī surges through the upāsaka, great caution is needed and according to gurūpadēśa, control is attained through dhāraṇā on the Gurucakra while sealed in śāmbhavī mudrā.
