By worshipping the Supreme Lord Nr̥hari on the auspicious day of Nr̥simha jayantī, one attains peace and wisdom. Nr̥simha caturdaśī is the best day to recite the great Mantrarāja of Lord Sarvapraharaṇāyudha, who appeared from a blazing jyōtirliṅga during śanipradōṣa, as though to prove his abheda with Mahārudra.

This is also the day when daśāmśa japa of aṅga mantras of the Lord is performed:

mūlamantram hayagrīvam rāmam kr̥ṣṇam varāhakam |
sudarśanapracaṇḍāstram pakṣirājam japētsadā ||

1. Anuṣṭup
2. Hayagrīva
3. Rāma tāraka
4. Rājagōpāla
5. Dharaṇīvarāha
6. Astra Sudarśana
7. Garuḍa

The upāṅga mantras are:

saudarśanam mantrarājam śaṅkhamantram ramām tathā |
dattātrēyam vainatēyam vāsudēvam ṣaḍakṣaram ||

The pratyaṅga mantras are:

kartavīryam markaṭēśam māyām lakṣmīm sarasvatīm ||

Prasannārghya is offered to Lord with the mantra mā nastōkē, which is described in the āgamas as referring to Vīranṟsimha, the form offering abhaya to Prahlāda:

r̥śirdhātāsya mantrasya chandō gāyatramucyatē |
dēvatā vīranr̥hariḥ maṁ bījam śaktiḥ oṃ tathā ||

Other Vaidika mantras that sing the glory of various forms of the Lord are described by Lord Mahādēva to Umā, the daśāmśa japa of which is prescribed:

1. trīṇi padā vicakramē: Mahānr̥siṁhajvālāmālākulam bhāti: Jvālānr̥siṁha
2. viśvataścakśuruta viśvatōmukhō: Viśvanr̥siṁha
3. mr̥gō na bhīmaḥ: Arināśananr̥siṁha
4. bhīṣādmādvātaḥ pavatē: Bhīmanr̥siṁha or Bhayaharanr̥siṁha
5. bhadram karṇēbhiḥ: Bhadranr̥siṁha or Abhayanr̥siṁha
6. tryambakam yajāmahē: Amr̥tanr̥siṁha
7. namō brahmaṇē namō astvagnayē: Vāsudēvanr̥siṁha
8. ārdram jvalati: Vahninr̥siṁha
9. vāyavyaṁ śvētamālabhēta: Vātanr̥ṁha

To recount an incident, I studied for sometime aṣṭādhyāyī and Mahābhāṣya from śāstrālaṅkāra śrī Nuggehalli Sudarśanācārya, who was also a revered Nr̥simha upāsaka. In addition to the siddhi of Mantrarāja and Mahāsudarśana, this great man had also perfected the vidyā of Jvālānr̥simha using the above mantra. I personally witnessed a person who was afflicted by a departed spirit, cured of his mysterious illnesses within a matter of few minutes due to the potency of this mantra.
