The worship of Naṭarāja involves the fascinating rite of Mahāsammēlana Maṇḍala.
This Maṇḍala is composed of sixteen Chakras:
1 Harihara chakra
2 Siddhānta chakra
3 Sadāśiva chakra
4 Mahācakra
5 Pañcabhūta chakra
6 Makuṭa chakra
7 Shivabrahma chakra
8 Upasaṁhāra chakra
9 Subrahmaṇya chakra
10 Anugraha chakra
11 Kaṅkāla chakra
12 Sarvatobhadra chakra
13 Shakti chakra
14 Pūjā chakra
15 Dikpāla chakra
16 Ratnaprāsāda chakra
At the center of these chakras, the Mahāsammēlana chakra is drawn and then worshiped in the same order.
One who knows these chakras understands the Chidambara Rahasya and thus the tattva of the Supreme Paramānanda Tāṇḍava mūrti.
